Extreme Platform ONE and our Expanded Hardware Portfolio to Power the Next Evolution of Cloud Networking

ExtremePlatformONE--Overview-01.jpg

Today’s milestone announcement from Extreme Connect 2025 in Paris showcases how Extreme Platform ONETM, now in Limited Availability, drives the convergence of AI, networking, and security. Extreme Platform ONE is a game-changer for our industry, as it helps reduce tasks from hours to minutes with integrated AI and reduces some manual tasks by approximately 90 percent. This next-generation platform for managing modern networks delivers the most unified and intelligent connectivity experience, and it’s already making a clear impact with active customers.

To coincide with this momentum, we have also introduced a wave of new hardware innovations across wireless, wired, and edge computing – all natively integrated into Extreme Platform ONE’s centralized and AI-powered management capabilities. Together, these new advancements redefine how organizations visualize, manage, and secure their networks — whether in the data center, across the campus, or at the edge.

What Is Extreme Platform ONE?

Extreme Platform ONE breaks down silos between networking and security, automates tasks through AI agents, and offers the industry’s simplest licensing – reducing mundane networking tasks from hours to minutes.

This isn’t just another AIOps for networking story. Extreme Platform ONE features agentic AI that drives automation beyond simple insights, streamlining workflows and empowering teams with pinpoint troubleshooting capabilities and intelligent decision-making.

Unified networking hardware. Infinite possibilities.

As announced at Extreme Connect 2025, with the Limited Availability launch of Extreme Platform ONE, our portfolio of hardware devices now becomes an even more powerful force. The platform’s AI, security, and orchestration capabilities are fully integrated to support the management of our latest releases, including:

1. Wireless networking: Expanding Wi-Fi 7 for every environment

Our Wi-Fi 7 access point lineup is growing to support a wider range of indoor and outdoor use cases, with the performance, flexibility, and AI-powered insights needed to support enterprise environments.

  • AP4020 (Indoor Wi-Fi 7) – Shipping now (GA from March to September 2025)
  • AP4060 (Outdoor Wi-Fi 7) – Supports external antennas for rugged deployments (GA September 2025)

These additions round out our premium Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, building on the AP5020 and bringing reliable, high-performance wireless to more places than ever. Coming soon, users can also expect a new and enhanced slate of Outdoor Wi-Fi 7, via our 5000 series.

2. Wired networking: Scaling for the campus, data center, and the cloud

From data centers to campus cores to compact edge locations, our wired switch portfolio is scaling to meet the evolving needs of high-performance and enterprise deployments.

Enterprise campus

  • 7830 Switch – High-density 100G and 400G fixed-modular core switch, enabling scalable fabric and traditional enterprise deployments.
    • GA Q3 CY 2025
  • 5120 Switch – Cost-effective 10G connectivity for IoT.
    • GA May 2025
  • 5320 Compact Switch – We recently released this switch, which is designed for space-constrained and silent environments (e.g. Ships, Exhibitions, Operating Rooms) with 18 ports of PoE and 2 ports of 10G uplinks.

Data center switching

  • 8730 Switch – 400 G-capable switching for IP fabric spine/leaf designs. Ideal for service providers and enterprise data centers deploying traditional and AI workloads.
    • GA Q3 CY 2025 (Note: Extreme Platform ONE integration will be post GA)

3. Universal compute: Deploy anywhere, scale everywhere

We’ve refreshed our Universal Compute Platform (UCP) portfolio to support larger, more flexible deployments of ExtremeCloudTM Edge and our full suite of management and security apps via Extreme Platform ONE. These validated, container-based platforms offer resilience, simplicity, and choice for customers who want to host and orchestrate services closer to where they’re needed.

Key models include:

  • UCP 2130C – Medium-scale, self-orchestrated deployments
  • UCP 3150C – Large-scale, self-orchestrated deployments
  • UCP 3160C – Cluster-based, managed orchestration for enterprise-scale rollouts
    • All GA February 2025

Each UCP model supports flexible app hosting, including ExtremeCloudTM IQ, ExtremeCloud IQ Controller, ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine, and Extreme Tunnel Concentrator, with built-in Kubernetes orchestration and clustering for high availability and performance.

A modern platform experience via ExtremeCloud IQ and Extreme Platform ONE

In tandem with the hardware and platform updates, ExtremeCloud IQ is also getting a major modernization, including a refreshed user experience, streamlined workflows, and enhanced data visibility to help IT teams work faster and smarter.

With this release, Extreme Networks is delivering on the promise of platform-driven cloud networking, where each component, across these Wi-Fi 7 access points, 400G core switches, and Universal Compute nodes, contributes to a smarter, more centralized system to drive operational efficiency and better outcomes.

What’s next?

This is just the beginning. As Extreme Platform ONE continues to evolve, we’ll keep expanding its capabilities — and delivering the device-based innovation you need to stay ahead in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Stay tuned for more updates and connect with your Extreme Networks account team to learn how you can take advantage of these new capabilities.
