Request a DemoNationally-ranked Research-1 institution Baylor University is the latest higher education leader to join the new Extreme Collegiate Incubator Experience (ECIE) program. ECIE is Extreme Networks’ hands-on, collaborative initiative to help colleges and universities explore, test, and innovate with the latest in enterprise networking technology.
Baylor is the ideal candidate to experiment with emerging tech, train staff, and validate new ideas in a way that won’t disrupt campus operations. With hundreds of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs, Baylor’s reputation for cutting edge research and exploration is unparalleled.
Now, the ECIE program will provide Baylor access to state-of-the-art networking gear from Extreme — including Universal Wired and Wireless, ExtremeCloud SD-WAN, Extreme Control, and ExtremeCloud IQ. The goal? Helping Baylor build their own innovation lab to test and validate use cases, alliances, and more.
And when the 20,000+ Baylor Bears on campus are taking a break from academics, many are passionate sports fans supporting their D1 athletics teams. In fact, Extreme Networks has been a part of building NFL-quality networking infrastructure for Baylor’s game days at McLane Stadium, Foster Pavilion, and the Ferrell Center. But after game day, these dedicated scholars will be right back to business — and testing new ways to employ Extreme Networks technology in building better research and stronger security.
“We’re looking at ways to create secure research enclaves for campus researchers,” said Day of the ways that ECIE will benefit Baylor. “This equipment will give us the opportunity to ...create and test secure networking environments that, from a compliance perspective, will be able to meet the needs of campus researchers.”
