Extreme Connect 2025
May 19-22
San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), a leading educator in Southern California serving more than 80,000 students, has joined the new Extreme Collegiate Incubator Experience (ECIE) program as the inaugural member. ECIE is a hands-on, collaborative initiative designed to help colleges and universities explore, test, and innovate with the latest in enterprise networking technology.
The ECIE program gives participating institutions access to state-of-the-art networking gear from Extreme — Universal wired and wireless, ExtremeCloud SD-WAN, Extreme Control, and ExtremeCloud IQ — so colleges can build their own innovation lab to test and validate use cases, alliances, and more. That means schools like SDCCD can experiment freely with emerging tech, train staff, and validate new ideas without disrupting live campus operations.
For a district as large and dynamic as SDCCD, the ability to test real-world scenarios around network security, automation, and performance is a big step forward. But ECIE is more than just a lab setup—it’s also a collaborative community. Participants can work with other institutions, contribute to shared learning, and publish insights from their projects to help peers across higher education.
