Supporting thousands of visitors and robust A/V systems across a sprawling cultural and religious venue campus.
Scalable and microsegmented network solutions via Extreme Fabric and wired Extreme switching to support massive A/V displays and complete guest security.
Prevention of lateral movement and cyberattacks within the system, ease of management for a large network of A/V, IoT, and security devices, and scalable networking across events of all sizes.
As the first Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), BAPS Hindu Mandir (BAPS) wanted to offer guests a deeply traditional experience while combining that tradition with the benefits of ultra-modern, immersive experiences. BAPS operates a massive site, with numerous spaces that serve a wide array of purposes and needs within the community:
Plans for an elaborate multi-media display across the complex, along with an exhibition hall, beautiful gardens, and several staff offices meant the organization would need a high-performance network. The IT team wanted the ability to segment network traffic, preventing lateral movement and minimizing the impacts of a potential cyberattack (a key concern for the customer).
Couple these factors with additional scalability needs because of big outdoor events or special services, and it was a wish list that only a special solutions provider could satisfy.
BAPS Hindu Temple was seeking a seamless A/V experience across a vast site. That’s what led Extreme Networks to offer the team a customized solution of Extreme Fabric and switching to deliver the desired results for this first-of-its-kind temple and site.
With Extreme Fabric, zero-touch automation and built-in security would allow fast deployment and simple management of the network, while instant provisioning with segmentation would ensure dedicated control for A/V systems. Fabric was also the ideal fit to help BAPS achieve consistent, real-time media delivery for live events and ceremonies. All-inclusive licensing meant the BAPS team could count on reliable, low-latency streaming without hidden costs or complexities.
In other words, Extreme Fabric was a pivotal piece in realizing the temple’s vision for a connected, immersive experience for visitors.
Today, with Extreme Fabric and Universal 5000 Series switches, the temple can easily support advanced applications and services throughout the new complex. These include seamless visitor management applications, security cameras and other IoT devices, staff devices, and the temple’s robust A/V system.
The improved network infrastructure allows the IT team to harness a microsegmented network that enables minimal impact in the event of a cyberattack while also scaling intuitively to support larger events, services, and ceremonies.
The temple now has a network capable of supporting high demands from visitor management applications, security cameras, IoT devices, staff devices, and the immersive A/V system that makes for such a one-of-a-kind guest experience. BAPS Hindu Template spokesperson Ashok Kotecha agrees.
