Epic Charter Schools, a tuition-free online learning institution serving approximately 30,000 students in Oklahoma, provides a flexible and personalized educational experience that incorporates one-to-one online learning with in-person support as needed. To support their unique learning model, they needed a network that could provide the scalability and reliability needed to meet the school’s ambitious goals.
Epic currently supports 30 physical sites for in-person learning, testing and meetings, with the goal to expand to 80 to cover every county in Oklahoma. The introduction of Extreme Networks solutions, particularly ExtremeCloud IQ, has helped the school easily manage its rapidly growing network. The alerting and monitoring capabilities of ExtremeCloud IQ have enabled Epic to proactively address network issues, ensuring uninterrupted and focused learning experiences for students.
By leveraging Extreme's cloud-based wireless model, Epic can rapidly deploy and scale its network to meet the school’s growth goals and ensure reliable connectivity for every student. The support and documentation from Extreme’s GTAC team have further enhanced Epic's ability to manage and troubleshoot their network efficiently.
Epic has a very ambitious goal. By the end of the year, we would like to see one physical site in every single county in Oklahoma. That will put us at about eighty sites. The cloud-based wireless model has given us the power to be able to accomplish that goal.
