Unified Fabric Network End-to-End

Enabled with the Fabric Connect VPN software, the XA 1400 enhances the value of our customers’ existing Fabric Connect deployments by expanding the reach of solution from Campus to distributed Branches and even the Cloud - while delivering the same simplicity, security and scalability that they are familiar with – all with a consistent and uniform user experience.

Flexible, Virtualized Solution

Extreme has been able to take the flagship “Fabric Connect” technology that powers our Campus switching solution, and delivers it in a completely virtualized manner on a general purpose x86 platform. This gives us flexibility to run additional Extreme or third party NFVs along side the Fabric Connect VPN solution so that customers can deploy network functions locally at their branch offices.

Extends Micro-segments to Remote Locations

While traditional Site-to-Site VPNs offer Data Security with encryption, the XA 1400 additionally delivers Secure Services extension from Campus to Branch, enabling end-to-end micro-segmentation, along with data encryption for an added layer of protection.

More features
  • Secure Fabric Services extension from Campus to distributed branches over public networks, be it MPLS WAN or Internet, in a provider agnostic manner
  • Ability to tunnel Fabric Connect Services either over VXLAN (Fabric Extend) or over IPSec tunnels
  • Seamless interworking with the existing VSP portfolio when using VXLAN or Fabric Extend
  • Simplified provisioning with end to end fabric-based networking
  • Unified reporting and troubleshooting for entire end to end network with Extreme Management Center
  • Standard x86 space and power efficient form factor with 4 and 8 core models with 6 copper RJ45 ports, 2 USB ports and 2 SFP+ ports
