Extreme Networks Welcomes New Team Members to Start the New Year Strong

Kimberley Basnight Vice President of Talent and Head of Diversity and Inclusion Published 11 Jan 2021

As we begin a new year and Extreme’s 25th year in business, there’s a lot to celebrate and look forward to. The cloud is driving many changes in the world of networking, and we are excited to help you navigate the challenge and complexity of distributed networking and increased mobility no matter where you are on your digital transformation journey. We are focused on innovating with a next-generation solutions portfolio, forging closer and more meaningful ties to our partners, and adding top-level talent.

The best way to ensure we are consistently innovating is to embrace diverse experiences and professional backgrounds across our great talent pool. As we seek to expand our foundation of cloud, mobility, and security capabilities, I’m pleased to announce two terrific new additions to our marketing and sales teams at Extreme – Nora Guzman and Marek Wasilewski.

Nora Guzman is our new Vice President of Product Marketing. In her role, she’ll oversee the Product, Competitive, and Content Marketing functions for Extreme.

Nora joins us from Amazon, where she helped build the Product Marketing and Sales Enablement function at Amazon Business and led Healthcare and Life Sciences industry marketing at AWS. Prior to Amazon, Nora held various roles at Baxter Healthcare, where she participated in their Marketing Development Program and took an ex-pat assignment in Singapore. Nora started her career as an enterprise networking industry analyst at IDC.

Outside of work, you’ll find Nora spending time with her husband and children and cheering for Boston and Michigan sports teams. Nora resides in Seattle and holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and a BA from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

“The network has never been more critical than it is today, and cloud-driven approaches are increasingly attractive to customers managing distributed environments. I am excited to apply my knowledge and expertise to help remove the barriers to adoption for our customers. I look forward to leading the product marketing function and building a best-in-class team that operates at cloud-speed.” – Nora Guzman, Vice President of Product Marketing

A strong proponent of digital transformation, Marek Wasilewski will be responsible for Service Provider and OEM routes to market as our new Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances.

Marek joins us from Mavenir, where he led global enterprise sales. Prior to Mavenir, Marek also held executive sales roles at Symantec and Mitel. During his more than 20 years in the industry, Marek has established a proven track record of motivating and developing top-producing sales and services teams. His leadership, operational expertise, and focus on results have enabled him to build and grow profitable businesses. He will be a great mentor to our sales teams at Extreme.

Outside of work, you’ll find Marek spending time with his wife and children and staying active as an avid runner and cyclist. He lives in Dallas and holds an MBA from Regent Business School in London, United Kingdom.

“Extreme has built an amazing team and solutions portfolio. Most companies have mission and vision statements, but so few live by them, like Extreme Networks. I look forward to living and breathing our core values, inspiring our teams, and building our new strategic global business unit.” – Marek Wasilewski, Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances

Starting 2021 Strong

Well-established plans, strategies, and proven tactics were all thrown into disarray in 2020. The Extreme team not only faced these challenges but embraced them! As we move into 2021 and continue expanding our team, we will work together to prevail and create effortless networking experiences that enable all of us to advance.

Please join me in welcoming Nora and Marek to the Extreme Team!
