One of the great things about working at Extreme is our “culture of giving.” Employees in every geo, in every job function, routinely give their time and resources to help those less fortunate, supporting many varied causes. Last year, we saw an opportunity to bring our culture of giving to the forefront and make a bigger impact. We hosted our first-ever “Day of Giving” to celebrate our 25th anniversary as a company, and the response and participation was so fantastic that we decided to make the event an annual tradition!
On May 10, 2022, our global workforce came together again to contribute and volunteer their time both physically and virtually, and I’m proud to share we set new records for philanthropy at Extreme. By the numbers:
50+ charities benefitted
1,000+ employees participated
200+ miles walked, biked, ran
30,000+ meals distributed, packed, cooked
47 global locations participated
2,000+ hours volunteered
Collectively, our employees across the globe joined together to support a number of different causes and initiatives. They donated their time, money, and hearts to local and national charities to make a difference.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from Day of Giving 2022
In Eastern Europe – employees donated and volunteered with SOS Children’s Villages to support the organization in sending as many children as possible away from dangerous areas, particularly with the ongoing crisis in Ukraine so close to home.
In Ireland, employees participated in a 5K walk/run to raise funds for the Red Cross.
In Australia, the sales team went to Our Big Kitchen to cook meals for those in need.
In the United Kingdom, team members volunteered with Launchpad to support the homeless community with picking, washing, and packing fresh food.
In France, employees donated hygienic items and first aid kits.
In Japan/Korea, the sales and services team members supported the Red Cross with a blood drive.
In META, employees coordinated with food centers to box meals and water and distributed them amongst those in need in the area.
La Raza ERG partnered with employees based in Brazil to raise money and donate clothing items, food, toys, and appliances to Núcleo Assistencial Brasilândia to provide rehabilitation treatment and social inclusion for children with physical and mental disabilities.
Women’s Council ERG worded with Brighten A Day to make uplifting and encouraging notes for hospital patients.
In addition to these employee-led initiatives, Extreme also pledged to donate $25/participant to UNICEF’s response and support of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Service is a powerful tool to bring people together and make a difference. This Day of Giving empowered our employees to come together as a company and volunteer their time to support a wide range of causes. I’m so proud of our team for their efforts and I cannot wait for our next annual Day of Giving!
