What is IPv6?

IPv6, or Internet Protocol Version 6, is the most recent version of Internet Protocol, which is used to identify and locate devices on a network. IPv6 is designed to address the limitations of its predecessor, IPv4, by providing vastly expanded address space. It uses a 128-bit address format, allowing for an astronomically large number of unique IP addresses.
