Mark Canepa, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mark Canepa is the president and chief executive officer of Extreme Networks®.
Prior to joining Extreme Networks, Canepa was with Sun Microsystems and served as
executive vice president of the Network Storage Products Group. Before that, he
served in multiple vice president and general manager roles at Sun, after joining
the company in 1996. Canepa's previous experience also includes several general
manager positions at Hewlett-Packard Company, including development and marketing
of the firm's workstation products. Canepa's educational background includes both
a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and he
has also completed the University of Pennsylvania's Advanced Management Program
at the Wharton School.
Karen Rogge, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Karen Rogge is the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Extreme
Networks. Prior to her role at Extreme Networks, she served as vice president, corporate
finance and treasurer at Seagate Technology, a leader in the disk drive industry,
where she led the global corporate finance organization and oversaw the financial
integration of Seagate's $2B acquisition of Maxtor Corporation. Prior to Seagate,
Rogge served as vice president and general manager for the internet search division
at Inktomi. She began her career at Hewlett Packard, where she served in several
executive roles spanning financial management, information technology management
and general management. Rogge holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University and a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University
Fresno.
Helmut Wilke, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Helmut Wilke leads Extreme Networks worldwide sales force and global channels, where
he aligns them to provide enterprise and service provider customers with high performance,
converged and secure network infrastructures. Wilke is a 25 year veteran in sales
for the high technology industry. Throughout his career he has demonstrated exceptional
leadership skills in solutions selling, accelerating sales force productivity and
driving business improvement with measurable results. As senior vice president of
operations and support for Sun Microsystems, Wilke drove sales productivity improvements
by simplifying and globalizing sales support systems. Prior to this, he served as
vice president of sales and president of Sun Microsystems, Germany, where he transitioned
the sales force to a solutions-focused approach. Prior to Sun, Wilke was the CEO
and president of Software AG, a leading manufacturer of software and systems for
large corporations. Wilke obtained his PhD in Social Sciences from the University
of Berlin.
Robert Schlossman, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Robert Schlossman serves as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary
for Extreme Networks, Inc. where he oversees worldwide legal matters including corporate
governance, securities compliance, intellectual property, employment law, strategic
transactions and corporate partnerships. Prior to Extreme Networks, Schlossman served
as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Network General Corporation,
acquired by NetScout Systems, Inc. Prior to Network General, Schlossman served as
senior counsel for Ciena Corporation and ONI Systems Corp. Schlossman began his
legal career as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Eugene F. Lynch, U.S. District Court of
the Northern District of California. Schlossman holds a B.A. and M.A. in English
and American Literature from Stanford University and a J.D. from the University
of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Paul Hooper, Vice President and General Manager, Volume Products Group
Paul A. Hooper brings a unique perspective to the role of Vice President and General
Manager for the Volume Products Group, as the Company's former Chief Marketing Officer,
and prior to that, its Chief Information Officer. Hooper, a 15 year veteran of the
High Tech industry, is responsible for the strategy, product development and business
management for Extreme Networks’ Summit® family of fixed configuration switches,
the BlackDiamond® 8800 family of modular switches, wireless LAN solution and security
solutions. Hooper also serves as Extreme Networks executive sponsor for data center
and enterprise LAN initiatives. In his previous role as Chief Marketing Officer,
Hooper oversaw Extreme Networks worldwide marketing efforts, where he led the strategic
focus of solutions and technical marketing, global field marketing and corporate
communications. Prior to that, as Extreme Networks Chief Information Officer, Hooper
oversaw the strategic use of IT systems and adherence to corporate compliance for
data throughout a globally distributed business. Specifically, Hooper led the planning,
procurement and ongoing support of business applications, network infrastructure
and related services supporting more than 800 employees across 50 countries. Prior
to joining Extreme Networks, Hooper served as vice president of information technology
at myCFO, Inc., where he was responsible for the Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure
for the fast-growing Financial Services and Advisory company. Hooper has also held
senior-level IT positions with JDS Uniphase, Netscape Communications and Sun Microsystems.
Suresh Gopalakrishnan, Vice President and General Manager, Scalable Products Group
Suresh Goplalakrishnan serves as vice president and general manager of the Scalable
Products Group for Extreme Networks, where he is responsible for the strategy, product
development and overall business management for high performance solutions addressing
the Carrier Ethernet market. Gopalakrishnan leverages a rich background in systems
engineering and the execution of business strategy and product development. Gopalakrishnan
previously held the roles of vice president and general manager for Extreme Networks’
Emerging Product Group, where he oversaw security and wireless solutions. Prior
to that, he served as vice president and general manager of converged systems and
vice president of marketing for Extreme Networks. Prior to joining Extreme Networks,
Gopalakrishnan was the executive vice president of engineering at Riverstone Networks
and served as the director of Corporate Strategy at Cabletron Systems (now Enterasys).
Gopalakrishnan has also held management positions at Sun Microsystems and HP. Gopalakrishnan
has been an adjunct faculty member at University of Idaho and Santa Clara University.
He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
Glenn Weinberg, Vice President and General Manager, Software Group
Glenn Weinberg serves as vice president and general manager of the Software Group
at Extreme Networks, where he oversees the design and development of software products,
including the award winning ExtremeXOS operating system and EPIcenter management
portfolio. Weinberg brings more than 30 years of industry experience in engineering,
management and marketing. Prior to Extreme Networks, Weinberg ran the Open Platform
Software Technology group for Cisco Systems. Prior to that, Weinberg was with Sun
Microsystems, where he served as vice president of the Operating Platforms Group,
vital to the development and delivery of the Solaris 10 Operating System. Earlier
in his career, Weinberg held a variety of engineering and management positions at
NEC, Encore Computer and Prime Computer. Weinberg holds an AB in German from Dartmouth
College and an MAS in Computer Science from Boston University.
Frank Blohm, Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Chief Quality Officer
Frank Blohm serves as vice president of worldwide operations and chief quality officer
for Extreme Networks where he leads the global supply chain organization and oversees
worldwide manufacturing, RMA service logistics, new product introduction, distribution
and logistics, product quality and corporate procurement. Frank also leads the company’s
corporate-wide quality programs and is responsible for ensuring global compliance
to all programs. Prior to Extreme Networks, Blohm was vice president of operations
at Sanmina-SCI, where he was responsible for the Custom Integration Division. Blohm
leverages more than 20 years experience in supply chain and operations for high
technology companies. Blohm has also held senior-level management positions with
Lucent Technologies, Octel Communications, and FMC Corporation. During his career
in the Silicon Valley, Blohm has led several Mergers and Acquisition projects. He
is actively associated with several operations and supply chain industry organizations.
Mike Seaton, Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Services
Mike Seaton serves as vice president and general manager for worldwide services
at Extreme Networks, where he oversees the strategy and delivery of technical support,
education, advanced technical and professional services to both enterprise and carrier
customers worldwide. Mr. Seaton previously held the role of vice president of sales
operations and strategic alliances, where he was responsible for ensuring that the
benefit of combined solutions and a strategic relationship realized by Extreme Networks
joint business partners and customers worldwide. Prior to joining Extreme Networks,
Seaton held various positions at AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Avaya throughout
his 16 year career. Seaton’s career experience includes programming, services, sales,
sales management, sales leadership, operations and internal business consulting.
Seaton holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from
Florida State University.
Kathleen Swift, Vice President of Human Resources
As Vice President of Human Resources, Kathleen Swift oversees staffing and talent
recruitment, organizational development, employee benefits and compensation strategies
and real estate and facilities for Extreme Networks. Swift brings 15 years of HR
experience to her role having managed all key aspects of the HR discipline. This
includes anticipating and responding to emerging employee trends and business practices,
helping to cultivate a dynamic corporate culture, and finding, developing and compensating
top performers throughout an organization. Swift's employment history includes the
role of vice president of HR for Terayon, a leader in cable modem and high definition
video systems, where she oversaw all aspects of HR. Prior to that, Swift served
as the director of HR for Avanex Corp. where she was responsible for global compensation,
benefits and HRIS. Prior to Avanex, Swift was director of HR and business operations
for Andes Networks. Swift has also held a variety of director and manager-level
HR positions at Com21, Questlink and Hitachi early in her career. Swift earned her
BS in Business Administration with honors from the California State University at
Chico.
