NASCAR takes the lead by partnering with Extreme Networks to speed up fan experiences and streamline raceday operations.
Extreme Wi-Fi 6 will optimize bandwidth, offering support for more devices delivering better performance
ExtremeCloud™ IQ Site Engine will enable NASCAR to gain a centralized and real-time view of the network to optimize network performance
ExtremeAnalytics™ will be deployed enabling NASCAR to monitor and optimize venue management by identifying spectator preferences, behaviors, and operational insights
NASCAR’s U.S. racetracks are some of the largest sports venues based on fan capacity. Daytona International Speedway is a venue that encompasses a 2.5-mile racetrack and required nearly 2,100 access points, making it one of the largest U.S. venues with outdoor Wi-Fi.
“With Extreme, we are changing the way fans experience the race. Racetracks now have a network that can support adding more amenities for fans like in-seat concessions ordering, and our venue IT teams have confidence that they can easily monitor everything happening over the network so we can make real-time adjustments and ensure a seamless experience for everyone using a Wi-Fi device.”
John Martin, VP of Media & Event Technology at NASCAR, and Norman Rice, COO of Extreme Networks discuss why the league is deploying Wi-Fi6 and ExtremeAnalytics to power innovative, immersive, and compelling fan experiences on race day – while gathering insights and intelligence to optimize operations. John also highlights how NASCAR shifted to iRacing during the pandemic and embraced the esports world.
