ISTE 2015: Technology to Transform Today’s Learners into Tomorrow’s Leaders

ISTE 2015

Football Hall of Famer Chris Doleman spoke about lessons in character at the Extreme Networks booth last year during ISTE 2014.

Summer is here, which means ISTE 2015 is right around the corner! We’ll be heading to Philadelphia from June 28 – July 1 to join our fellow leaders in ed tech at the annual K-12 education event. At last year’s conference, we shined the spotlight on the rapid growth of Google Chromebooks in education, technology support for Common Core assessments and personalized learning environments. We have some equally engaging activities planned at booth #2528 during this year’s show.

The E-rate program, which is bringing billions of dollars in support of schools and libraries obtaining affordable connectivity to broadband, continues to be top of mind for technology providers and, more importantly, educators across the nation. At the show, we’ll have a station dedicated to E-Rate, where Extreme’s Education Specialist Tracy Hill will be fielding questions about the program and its implications.

Also at the Extreme booth will be the USC Shoah Foundation promoting the iWitness program, a free education website that connects middle and high school students with first-person stories of survivors and witnesses of genocide via multimedia-learning activities. The goal of the program is to “spark a motivation to act, and ultimately, to help mold a responsible participant in civil society.” USC has been a longtime customer of Extreme Networks, and Extreme donated the equipment that helps support this initiative.

We will have live demonstrations taking place in the booth to give attendees a firsthand experience with our technology. This year the demos include:

  • Purview/Analytics – Maximize your network’s impact and enhance learning with Purview network and application analytics technology
  • High Density Wi-Fi – Supporting high density Wi-Fi needs with IdentiFi Wireless technology
  • SDN Skype for Business – Securely connect, collaborate and share with a reliable integrated solution, enabled by Extreme Networks’ OneController SDN Platform

Jerry Csaki, manager of youth education at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be on hand to explain how your school district can participate in the Heart of a Hall of Famer program with members of the Hall of Fame.

Get a free site security design. Axis Communications will be at the booth demonstrating their network-based cameras and services and will give away a free end-to-end security analysis and design.iTunes giftcard
