As you can imagine, Interop Las Vegas 2011 will be dominated by Cloud and Data Center. Of particular interest this year are two themes:
Clouds Are Real – We are no longer as an industry talking about just the potential of Cloud computing — we are seeing actual use cases and business models evolve. In particular, there are a number of education sessions for Sunday, May 8th (before exhibits open) that are dedicated to Cloud topics and provide an inside peek into the inner workings of some of the main Cloud providers in the marketplace. At these sessions, leading cloud providers Amazon, Rackspace and others will dive into the specifics of cloud service offerings. A great opportunity to hear from the leaders how Cloud really works.
Theme 2: Open Cloud Networking – As part of these sessions, at the Enterprise Cloud Summit on Monday, May 9th, OpenStack will be going through an “under the covers look at private Cloud stacks. Along the open Cloud lines, one of the very promising Cloud technologies, OpenFlow, will be highlighted at the InterOpNET OpenFlow Lab . OpenFlow is one of the hot new topics in networking and promises to play an important role in the evolution of the cloud.
I encourage anyone interested in discussing any of these topics, or interested in seeing where Extreme Networks plays in the Cloud to stop by our booth (#2051) and also to see Extreme Networks’ Shehzad Merchant, at the following sessions:
