Last year’s WannaCry ransomware attack impacted hospitals around the world. Unlike previous cybersecurity threats, this one had direct and indirect influences on connected medical devices used in hospitals today. The international standard ISO/IEC 80001 – application of risk management for IT-networks incorporating medical devices, presents a unified approach to the safety of medical devices connected to IT networks. This session will review best practices for a hospital to implement based on the lessons learned during the WannaCry ransomware attacks.
