Summit® X450e is based on Extreme Networks® highly resilient, modular ExtremeXOS® core-class operating system with features designed to improve uptime, manageability and operational efficiency. Summit X450e provides high availability and performance with its advanced traffic management capabilities which enable the large scale rollout of converged networks that support devices such as IP telephones, wireless APs and other devices that require power from a LAN connection. With low-latency line-rate performance, Summit X450e is available in an 802.3af standards-based Power over Ethernet (PoE) version or in a non-PoE version.
Summit X450e supports hardware-based routing for both IPv4 and IPv6 to help provide investment protection by allowing the rollout of IPv6 in your network now or in the future. The highly flexible Summit X450e switch provides high-density gigabit plus optional 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a compact 1RU format, supporting a wide range of Layer 2 to Layer 4 functionalities on every port. Optional redundant power supplies are provided with each switch to protect against power anomalies, enabling a continuously operational network.

Summit X450e has 24-port or 48-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE or non-PoE and 4-port 1000BASE-X SFP. With its tri-speed Gigabit Ethernet interface with inline power capability as well as optional dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Summit X450 provides universal connectivity.
Summit X450e has a non-blocking switching fabric and offers wire-speed Layer 2/Layer 3 switching for all ports with Quality of Service and security features such as hardware-based Access Control Lists (ACLs). With its extensive Layer 2-4 intelligence, Summit X450e meets a variety of requirements at the edge of the converged enterprise network as well as an aggregation or small core switch.
