The Power of Performance for Partners

One Stage, One Extreme, 28 Countries Represented

These are busy times at Extreme. We recently announced an exciting new partnership with Lenovo in the converged infrastructure space, not to mention EMC VSPEX certification. We also just came off a very successful sales conference where our new CEO, Chuck Berger, rallied the troops around some of the opportunities and challenges we are facing as a company.

One of the key themes of that conference was performance, and for Extreme, performance means a lot of things. We have a long history of building the highest performance Ethernet switches in the industry and Chuck made it clear that we are going to continue the investments in both hardware and software with an emphasis on our “secret sauce”, our robust ExtremeXOS® modular network operating system that powers all of our switches, from the Summit® X430 all the way up to the BlackDiamond® X8.

Another aspect of performance is reach. Yes, we are a relatively small company, but there are a lot of great companies that are small. Lotus, Bugatti, Ferrari and Lamborghini all come to mind. Despite being small, we are still very much a global company, with representatives from 28 countries all on stage together at the sales conference.

Beyond size and products, another aspect of performance is how easy a particular company is to do business with. We have many partners who have built businesses around providing solutions that include Extreme, but we also realize that one of the things that we need to work on is being easier to work with for both partners and customers. We are going to be rolling out improvements in systems, process and procedures that will make us easier to do business with.

We’ll be talking about these and other exciting changes at the APAC Partner Conference, 14-17 August in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We look forward to seeing you there.
