Every day, Extreme Networks helps K-12 school districts around the world provide personalized learning and reliable connectivity to students, teachers and staff with best-in-class Wi-Fi and wired network infrastructure. Providing the infrastructure necessary to allow schools access to high speed Internet is increasingly important – as evidenced by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) decision to raise the E-rate cap. More schools are incorporating technology into everyday classroom activities so having the right infrastructure in place to support these initiatives is of utmost importance.
This month, Extreme Networks’ X460 Summit® Switches were voted into District Administration magazine’s Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products for 2014 list. From over 2,400 nominations, Extreme Networks was selected by District Administration’s editors as having received the highest number of nominations and best descriptions from K-12 leaders nationwide.
The Summit switches are supporting students and schools across the globe. The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad implemented X460 switches in addition to BlackDiamond 8800 switches to create a robust and secure network that connects students and staff throughout classrooms, dormitories, research labs and athletic facilities. The new infrastructure enables Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and supports the delivery of teachers’ notes and lessons through real-time video applications, which provides students with a flexible approach to studying.
Extreme Networks is incredibly proud to be on the District Administration’s Readers’ Choice Top 100 list for the fourth consecutive year (including Enterasys Networks) and we look forward to continuing to help K-12 school districts reach their technology goals in 2015!
