Extreme’s Latest IdentiFi Solutions Make Wireless and Cloud Deployments Easier than Ever

Extreme Wireless AP

We are excited to introduce our newest wireless release; our simple, fast and smart award-winning IdentiFi wireless solution. This latest offering provides our customers with high-quality, cost efficient solutions that will continue to drive Extreme Networks’ deployments to the cloud. The list of enhancements includes:

  • Support for IEEE 802.11r & k standards
  • New AP3801 802.11ac access point (AP)
  • New C35 IdentiFi appliance
  • VMWare virtual appliance
  • Purview application visibility integrated into IdentiFi
  • Probe response suppression added to Dynamic Radio Management (DRM), for improved data performance

We developed these enhancements based on customer feedback and our vast experience installing wireless networks in venues across industries – from large stadiums to small classrooms. To improve the user experience, customers will have the option to start with a 2.4 GHz and migrate towards a 5GHz without any software or hardware changes, all with the support of full-featured, enterprise grade 802.11ac access points.

We are also excited to further our cloud offerings with the introduction of the IdentiFi VMWare Virtual Appliance and Purview integration. The Virtual Appliance allows customers to scale their APs as demand increases and decreases. Additionally, the cloud-friendly Purview integration extends application analytics into IdentiFi and cloud deployments, simplifying installations by reducing the number of components.

The DRM feature was added to Extreme’s intelligent RF solution following multiple massive stadium installations. We knew that our customers were looking to cut back management traffic and DRM has improved data traffic performance.

With this updated suite of IdentiFi wireless solutions, Extreme continues to deliver on our commitment to a complete edge-to-cloud network portfolio with the simple, fast and smart solutions that customers expect from Extreme. Looking to the future, this integrated offering, which incorporates cloud and analytics, will be the core of our overall wireless solution.
