Teaming with the Pro Football Hall of Fame To Improve the Canton Local Schools Networks
Recent discussions about education in this country have focused on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) approved E-Rate program, which calls for a $2 billion investment to bolster Wi-Fi connectivity in schools and libraries around the country over the next two years. The program will transition outdated technologies to help bring broadband and wireless Internet connections to classrooms and libraries. It is clear just how essential reliable and pervasive network bandwidth through Wi-Fi technology is to education.
At Extreme, we are dedicated to providing schools with the infrastructure they require to integrate technology with student learning, and allow teachers and students to use their devices more efficiently and effectively. Last week, we teamed up with the Pro Football Hall of Fame (PFHOF) to donate Extreme’s networking equipment to H.R. Walker Elementary School of the Canton Local Schools in Ohio.
It was a true honor to provide Walker Elementary School with the much-needed technology resources to help upgrade the school’s entire network, enabling a better broadband connection to the district and improving the efficiency of its current Internet connection. Pictured above in the photo from the event are: Extreme Networks Director of Education Jonathan Kidwell, Canton Local Educational Strategist Nick Stepanovich, Superintendent Kim Redmond, Walker Elementary School Principal Frank Kruger, Extreme Networks Engineer Jerry Herzog and David Baker, the executive director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Extreme continues to work together with the Pro Football Hall of Fame to provide its Heart of a Hall of Famer series to schools around the country. The program provides students with the opportunity to learn first-hand how legendary Hall of Fame players achieved success on and off the football field thanks to positive character qualities. To kick off the upcoming school year, we have a great lineup of programs starting in September. Here is the schedule of upcoming speakers and locations.
