Upgraded switching network provides high performance, availability and reliability

In 2013, the Ouachita Parish School System in Monroe, Louisiana, started to plan for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) field testing. PARCC is a 19-state consortium developing next-generation K-12 online assessments in English and math.  The district’s top priorities in looking for a switch vendor included performance and capacity, so they needed a high-performance switch vendor that offered availability and reliability for the traffic load anticipated for PARCC testing.  The advantages of the new Extreme Networks switching solution include:

  • Superior Price for Performance: With constrained school budgets, the cost effectiveness combined with the rich feature set of the solution was a win-win
  • Ease of Management: The Extreme Networks operating system was consistent across all switches, which was not true of competing bids
  • Excellent Customer Support: Both Extreme Networks and the partner Carousel Industries provided top notch service and support
