EXTREME NETWORKS AND SHORETEL OUTFIT OKLAHOMA'S CLAREMORE SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH CONVERGED NETWORK
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Mar. 28, 2007 – Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR), and ShoreTel, Inc., a leading provider of IP telephony solutions, have provided a high performance, converged data and voice network and IP telephony infrastructure for Oklahoma's Claremore School District.
The Claremore School District supports more than six schools and 5,000 students and staff. At the onset of its technology refresh and vendor selection process, the district formulated the objective to consolidate the management of its applications into one network and plan for the support of converged IP communications in the future. The district wanted to obtain the latest generation of Ethernet switching technology to support its data, and to then replace an antiquated phone system, consisting of several varieties of small PBX phone systems, and lastly, to gain rich and robust network management.
Claremore School District selected the combination of Extreme Networks® and ShoreTel for its converged data and voice infrastructure. This met the district's need to expand a single phone system to multiple buildings and migrate away from outdated equipment. It also enabled the replacement of an expensive and cumbersome voicemail system.

With the new network infrastructure in place, business processes such as financial activities are centralized and carried out on a Gigabit attached server. The library application is centralized and supported by the network on a 24/7 basis. And employee time clocks are now dispersed so that an employee can clock-in from any point in the buildings.
