On Success Behind the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games

At Extreme Networks we are proud of what we do but we are even more proud of what our customers do with our solutions and gear. It is because of this that getting letters like the following that we got from John Souter, CEO of London LINX, has special meaning to us, particularly to our Engineers, SEs and technical boots on the ground that make things happen.

Derek Cobb and I would like to express our thanks for the excellent support provided to LINX by Extreme Networks during the 2012 London Olympic & Paralympic Games.

As we’re sure you are aware, the games were a huge success and drew record attendances.  This was reflected by unprecedented levels of coverage via broadcast TV and on-line access.

Internet peering provided by LINX, through our LAN and private interconnect services, was a critical part of the on-line delivery system, monitored daily by the UK government and visible to end-users, both in the UK and throughout the world. Consequently, the reliability of the Extreme LAN was of primary importance to LINX. The enhanced support plans put in place between us, and the Extreme engineers assigned to work with LINX provided an excellent level of insurance against LINX network issues impacting the games.

Working together this way has helped deliver a major success for LINX and Extreme Networks, at a time when the eyes of the world were watching.

Thank you for your support, which was very much appreciated.  Please pass this on to all of the staff who worked so well with us during this critical period.

You should all feel proud of what we achieved together.

Regards

John
